Foundation test program instrumentation

The Foundation Test Program in Oregon focuses on evaluating load paths in displacement grouted columns using advanced geotechnical instrumentation. Encardio Rite provided vibrating wire piezometers, strain gauges, earth pressure cells, and target prisms for real-time monitoring. Data collected with ESDL-30 dataloggers was analyzed through the Drishti cloud platform, aiding efficient decision-making for the final project execution. This innovative monitoring approach ensures cost-effective construction while enhancing understanding of subsurface behaviors during load testing.

Foundation test program instrumentation

The project entails the development of a test section for a future project to be built outside of Portland, Oregon. The test section was made up of displacement grouted columns (DGCs), with a load testing platform built on top of it. The floor loading on the load testing platform (LTP) was accomplished by attaching steel plates to the load testing platform.
For the test section, a geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring programme was planned, which aided in the development of final production plans. The goal was to look into the load paths along the LTP to the underlying soil and DGCs.

Encardio Rite provided the project with instrumentation and real-time monitoring results. Earth pressure cells, piezometers, arc weldable strain gauges, and target prisms were among the instruments used in this project. Our data loggers and data management platform provided near real-time data to the client.
