Anthochori Tunnel

The Anthochori Tunnel, part of the Egnatia Highway in Northern Greece, was constructed between 2001-2005 using a combination of the ATM mechanical excavation method and controlled drilling and blasting. Encardio-rite provided advanced geotechnical monitoring solutions to ensure safety and structural integrity. The twin-bore tunnel, each spanning 673 meters with a 105m² cross-section, required real-time monitoring instruments to track ground stability and deformation. Learn how geotechnical innovations contributed to the success of this critical highway infrastructure project.

Anthochori Tunnel

Encardio-rite supplied monitoring instruments for the twin-bore highway Anthochori Tunnel, Egnatia Highway, Section 3.2 in Northern Greece. The tunneling process followed the ATM – Mechanical excavation method and occasionally the drilling and blasting method. The project was constructed between 2001-2005. The total length of tunnel is 2 x 673 m, with a cross section of 105 m2.
