Vishnuprayag hydroelectric project

The Vishnuprayag Hydroelectric Project, located in Uttarakhand, India, utilizes advanced instrumentation for monitoring its dam, head race tunnel (HRT), and underground powerhouse. Encardio Rite provided piezometers, strain meters, uplift pore pressure sensors, borehole extensometers, and more to ensure safety and stability. Real-time data from the automatic data acquisition system and weather stations enable proactive decision-making, ensuring the longevity and performance of the project’s critical components.

Vishnuprayag hydroelectric project

The Vishnuprayag hydroelectric project is a 400 MW run-of-the-river project, located in Uttarakhand. The project consisted of a 17 m high concrete diversion dam, desilting chambers, a 4 m dia. tunnel, a surge shaft, and a 1,491 m long steel-lined pressure shaft.

Encardio-rite provided instrumentation for the dam, HRT & underground powerhouse. Instrumentation provided and installed by Encardio-rite included a piezometer, uplift pore pressure sensor, stress meters, strain meters, borehole extensometers, tri-axial joint meter, hydraulic overflow settlement cell, linear joint meter, temperature meter, normal & inverted pendulum, portable readout units, automatic data acquisition system, and automatic weather station.
